Two weekends ago we took our first trip to grandma and grandpa z's house in Baxter, MN. A short 2 hr drive- we were anxious to see how the babe would do. Turns out that we have a super traveler- he slept the whole way! G&G were very happy to see him, Uncle Erich and cousins Lucy and Cora were there too.

The next weekend was the true test - a 7 1/2 hr car ride to Bismark, ND to see G&G Shilman and Great Grandparents. Again, we were very relieved - he slept most of the time, only a few crying spells that didn't last more than 30 seconds! We broke the trip up into 3 - 2 /12 hr. sections, we left Duluth at 1:00 pm (Nick had to work in the am), stopping first in Baxter at my parents house. Then in Fargo we stopped at our friends Jess and John Schutt's house.Jess and Sam
We made it to Bismarck by 10:30 pm - a very long, but uneventful ride. What a relief! On Sunday we went to St. Alexius to visit Great Grandma Lee who was in the hospital recovering from Hip surgery. She was very happy to see her little Great Grandson.Great Grandma Lee

Sam had his first real bath in G&G Shilmans kitchen sink on Monday morning - we think he liked it?
Later on Monday we went to Edgewood Vista to visit Great G&G Shilman. They were both very happy to see Sam. Grandma Shilman especially enjoyed holding and looking at Sam - she has Alzheimer's - so she did very well, she had such a big smile on her face the whole time we were there.

On Tuesday we headed back to Duluth, again, the trip back went very well! What a good little baby we have! The next trip will be on an airplane with Mommy and Grandma z to go visit my Sister and her family in Chandler, AZ!
