Christmas in Bismarck

Oh, what a Christmas it was - it will be one in my memory for a long, long time. We had a wonderful time in Bismarck - Until the stomach flu hit! Poor Grandma and Grandpa Shilman woke up with it on Christmas day. The rest of us got some for of it during the next few days. BUT we were still thankful for the time we were able to spend with our family, there were a lot of good memories too! We were able to have a quick visit with Great Grandpa Shilman on Christmas Eve and we also stopped by to see Great Grandma Shilman, who was in the middle of eating her Christmas eve dinner.

Nick and I left to go home (in quite a hurry) on Sunday morning because neither myself nor Sam were feeling ill yet, and we needed to make a long drive back to MN. We missed saying goodbye to the Great Grandparents because we did not want to spread the sickness that was lurking in our systems. (to be continued...)

Little did we know that this would be the last time we would see Great Grandpa Shilman. He passed away today, the 1st of January 2011. We have sadness in our hearts, but know that he is in a better place. Rest in peace Great Grandpa, we will miss you!
